Policy Statement
Whilst it is the Company's intention to develop and expand its business activities and thus provide a stable working environment, and as far as is practicable, security of employment for all of its employees, it must as a matter of priority ensure the economic viability of the business in an increasingly competitive market.
In this respect, circumstances may arise due to changes in the market or technology.
Organisational requirements may necessitate the need for reductions in employee levels leading to possible redundancies. In order to minimise the impact of such redundancies and to ensure compliance with current legislation the following procedure is followed.
It must be recognised, however, that where the needs of the business so dictate, this procedure may be adapted to the particular circumstances prevailing at the time.
The Company welcomes the support of the recognised Trade Union(s) and Elected Employee Representatives in seeking to implement this policy in a fair and consistent manner.
