Information to be supplied to Unions and Employee Representatives

During the consultation with the Unions and Employee Representatives it is necessary under

TULRCA Section 188(4) to provide:

•  The reasons for the proposed reduction in workforce
•  Alternatives to compulsory redundancies
•  The number and types of roles affected
•  The total number of employees of any such description employed by the employer at the establishment in question
•  The proposed method of selection
•  The proposed method of carrying out the dismissals and timescales
•  Calculation used for redundancy pay

Consultation must be taken with a view to reaching agreement with representatives.

The Line Manager liaises with the Human Resources Representative on all aspects of the consultation process.
