Group Financial Director
Looking for an FD for a small national group affiliated to automotive. The business has 300 staff, turnover around £150m. Revenues just 4% off making profit, stable, consistent. Financially astute senior management. Need competent FD with all the usual skills + leveraged finance would be an advantage as would Kerridge and experience of bank relationships. Full Job Description
To manage all financial and administrative activities on behalf of the business. To support the dealership management team achieve their financial objectives through the provision of accounting advice and support.

Management Accounting
? Ensure that management accounts are submitted accurately and to the specified deadlines
? Review final accounts and highlight variants with management team
? Support senior management in specific investigations into departmental management accounts
? Produce all statutory information accurately and to the specified deadlines
? Assist the auditors as required in producing information to generate statutory accounts
? Produce VAT returns in line with the statutory requirements
? Manage the cash flow and funding requirements of the business and produce reports for the senior management
? Manage the stock reconciliation process in line with the needs of the company
? Produce accurate reports and submit in a timely fashion
Planning and budgeting
? Advise and assist management team in developing annual business plans and strategy.
? Advise and assist management team in produce periodic business forecasts.
? Advise management team on the financial impact of management decisions on the business.
? Advise and assist senior management in producing capital project proposals.
Performance Management
? Agree tasks and work standards with the Accounts and Administration teams.
? Agree personal and business objectives with team members
? Carry out regular performance appraisals with the team
? Maintain standards of performance and conduct, dealing with lapses in line with Audi centre policy.
? Review payment systems to ensure consistency and fairness and recognise and reward exceptional performance.
People Management
? Operate a Recruitment and Selection process in line with organisational requirements
IT
? Produce, monitor and review company I.T strategy
? Ensure all aspects of company IT infrastructure is maintained and fully functioning.
? Ensure all relevant personnel are suitably trained and have adequate system access.
? Ensure that all computer usage is in line with company policies.
? Liase with suppliers of hardware, software and maintenance.
Ledger Management
Sales ledger
? Liaise with the Head of Business /Sales Manager/Sales Administrator regarding status of consigned vehicles to avoid the adoption of fully consigned stock wherever possible.
? Advise and assist the Head of Business to optimise the use of vehicle funding schemes.
? Assign costs against vehicles by accounting period cut-off dates.
? Manage the cash flow of the business to minimise costs and maximise interest.
? Ensure that procedures are in place to charge out goods and services promptly and payments are received and banked within the agreed credit period
? Advise and assist the management team in minimising debts.
? Act personally to resolve customer problems if required.
? Reconcile the sales ledger.
Purchase Ledger
? Ensure that purchase invoices are processed by business deadlines.
? Ensure that procedures are in place to agree and authorise suppliers%27 statements promptly.
? Ensure that payment procedures are effective and efficient.
? Ensure that all suppliers queries are dealt with promptly.
Nominal ledger
? Reconcile balance sheet accounts to safeguard the interests of stakeholders.
? Ensure that the Dealer Management System is maintained and is suitable to support the achievement of the business objectives.
? Monitor fixed and current asset values within the business and implement agreed depreciation and write down policies.
