Parts Van Sales person

1. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
a. To ensure customer satisfaction and service.
b. To visit distributors, fleet owners, trade outlets and shops to sell parts and accessories.

2. RELATIONSHIPS AND PERSONAL ACTIVITIES
2.1 Directly responsible to:
Parts Manager.

2.2 Relationships with:
Parts staff, Fleet Sales Executive, distributors and trade outlets.
3. OBJECTIVES AND KEY TASKS
3.1 Improved profitability:
a. To ensure van parts sales budget achievement.
b. To increase share of market annually.
c. To identify and win new customers to achieve budgeted sales.
d. To record and action %27lost sales%27.

3.2 Customer service and satisfaction:
a. To ensure all customer queries are dealt with within 24 hours.
b. To introduce customers to new policies and promotions.

3.3 Cost control:
a. To ensure all exchange items are returned.
b. To ensure dealership discount structure is properly applied.
c. To care for dealership property and ensure economic use of car/delivery van.
d. To monitor and action %27turn over%27 ratio of all van stock.

4. LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
Operational:
To operate within territory and with customers agreed with Parts Manager.

5. MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
5.1 Staff:
To co-operate with all staff to further the interests of the dealership, but particularly with parts department staff.

5.2 Administration:
a. To ensure that all documentation is completed on time in a clear and accurate manner.
b. To ensure all part-exchange, replacement and reconditioned item schemes are operated according to dealership policy.



5.3 Communications:
a. To maintain regular communication with Parts Manager.
b. To ensure regular and helpful contact with all customers.
c. To ensure all communications with dealership staff are prompt, regular and clear.

5.4 Marketing:
a. To contribute to marketing plan of dealership as required.
b. To advise on special parts sales promotions.
c. To provide regular analyses of market sectors, sales and lost sales.

5.5 Finance:
a. To be alive to opportunities and report on any manner in which market share may be increased.
b. To operate all discounts and exchange schemes within dealership policy.

6. EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
a. Technical skills sufficient to understand vehicles and parts usage.
b. Ability in selling.
c. Well-developed approach to customer relations.
d. Organising ability to ensure all reports and returns are promptly and clearly rendered.
e. NVQ Level 1, Vehicle Maintenance - Service Replacement, Level 2/3, Retail Operations.

7. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES FOR RESULTS
7.1 Sales volume:
a. Achievement of sales budget for period
b. New customer conversion to achieve targets set by Parts Manager

7.2 Profit:
a. Application of company?s approved discount structure in all cases
b. Achievement of van stock parts stock turn budget for period
c. Record all lost sales

7.3 Cost control:
a. Ensure all exchange items are returned and recorded
b. Vehicle mileage/fuel usage/repair costs to fall within budget for period
c. All issues made with receipt, payment or authorised signature

7.4 Customer satisfaction:
CSI scores to achieve targets set by company
