Bodyshop manager

Main Purpose of Job

To provide a courteous and efficient reception service ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction

To sell Accident Repair Centre time, products and services and liaise with insurance companies and engineers
Duties and Responsibilities

Book in vehicles ensuring appointments are convenient for the customer and gather all relevant information. Liaise with Supervisor/ Manager on estimating

Greet all customers, dealing with them in a courteous, helpful and professional manner

Be aware of credit limits/ customers on stop list and agree method of payment/ excess as appropriate

Arrange/ offer courtesy services as appropriate

Ensure any warranty paperwork is in accordance with Autocar Warranty Procedures

Liaise with the supervisor following each job through and keep customers informed of progress, completion or additional work required - give costs and seek authority. Liaise with insurance companies/ engineers as necessary

Liaise with Parts on orders and inform customers of availability for fitting

Check completed work in readiness for explanation to charges and prepare invoices

Handover vehicles when promised, explain work and charges and sell extended warranty,
additional work recommended, etc as appropriate

Collect payment ensuring correct procedures are followed

Follow up all customers within 1 week of completion of work

Account for daily takings and secure cash float

Key in information on computer and provide reports for Accident Repair Centre Manager

Maintain an accurate filing system

Handle customer complaints effectively, referring to management where necessary

Keep the reception area tidy and customer friendly

Attend training courses as required and keep abreast of technical developments

Carry out other duties as required from time to time
HEALTH AND SAFETY

To ensure the safe working environment for all employees by complying with the statutory legislation and Government Health and Safety Policy

To report immediately any non conformance to the appropriate senior position
