Technician

The efficient, safe and effective repair of motor vehilcles in a timely manner and right first time.

Always seeking to identify any faults present on the vehicle irrespective of the nature of the actual repair on the day. Alays seeking to present the vehicle full serviceable upon completion.
YOUR ROLE

? Your activity is focused on ensuring that the department meets the needs of its business function, by providing the technical expertise to prepare and repair vehicles to our standard in terms of both quality and cost.
? You make sure that all jobs are completed first time, on time, every time.
? You undertake service and repair jobs as requested by the workshop supervisor in accordance with recommendations and agreed processes.
? You follow the Company administrative procedures, completing all documentation accurately & legibly.
? You carry out mechanical inspections as per the Company inspection check sheet marked (M) unless instructed otherwise.
? You notify the Workshop supervisor or aftersales manager promptly of any extra work needed on vehicles you are working on.
? You ensure that you complete the work specified and inform the workshop supervisor of any difficulties and ask for technical support if necessary.
? You ensure that your performance reflects that of the expected performance figures in terms of Quality, utilisation, productivity and efficiency.
? You ensure that you do not commence any work on vehicles without a job card and being clocked on the said job.
? You ensure that you do not remove any parts from the parts department without them being issued to a job card.

? You respect & protect customer?s vehicles & property at all times.
? You ensure that you explain technical issues carefully & clearly.
? You systematically check all your work to ensure it?s quality against our company standard.
? You communicate effectively with your production colleagues in Body, parts and valet.
? You ensure that your work area is clean & tidy at all times.
? You play a full role in the departmental team, know the roles and responsibilities of every other team member and co-operate fully with them in our joint efforts to provide excellent customer service.
? You ensure that you show commitment to the ethos of the business.


HEALTH AND SAFETY

+ To ensure the safe working environment for all employees by complying with the statutory legislation and Government Health and Safety Policy and to report immediately any non conformance to the appropriate senior position

RELATIONSHIPS

Directly responsible to the Service/aftersales/workshop manager and Service/Consultative relationships with service admin, sales team, parts and accounts:
