Regional Sales Manager
Main Purpose of Job
The job exists to plan, control and develop the activities and profitability of the New & Used sales Departments in accordance with the Company?s aims and objectives
To think strategically about CMA and be resourceful and decisive
To lead the New & Used sales Department teams, and co-ordinate their efforts by fully utilising the staff, resources, equipment and facilities at their disposal; and by developing and maintaining procedures, systems and controls approved by the Company.
To identify opportunities to improve customer loyalty
To review training and development activities at least once a year in order to evaluate to what extent they have contributed to business performance

Duties and Responsibilities
Establish and maintain, as agreed with the Director, operating policies and standards based on the need to obtain volume and profit targets
Contribute to the development of the business plan in conjunction with the Director
Achieve and maintain an acceptable level of profitability and improve this in line with the company?s requirement for a satisfactory return on assets and funds employed
Ensure procedures, systems and controls approved by the company are maintained throughout
Regularly investigate market trends and opportunities and develop advertising and promotions in consultation with the Sales managers to market the department within agreed budgets.
Ensure regular contact with the wholesale and fleet customers to sell ideas and proposals to grow the business.
Ensure compliance with the strict credit control procedures as determined by group policy
Achieve and maintain levels of Customer satisfaction and retention as required by the manufacturer and the company
Implement and administer the smooth running of Quality standards required by the manufacturer and the company i.e. ISO IIP
Monitor stock inventory levels ensuring appropriate levels ratios and turnover are maintained. Predict and pro-actively manage foreseeable seasonal stock fluctuations including model line pressures within this. Oversee annual stock take
Recruit, induct train and develop talented people necessary to achieve volume and profit objectives and delegate responsibilities where appropriate
Carry out regular appraisals of staff performance to identify strengths and weaknesses as a basis of instigating future policies and actions
Lead and encourage staff to achieve their full potential building courage and stamina throughout the organisation
Regularly communicate with staff individually and collectively to discuss future policy, customer care issues and areas of importance within the department
Make changes and help people identify what habits and assumptions must be changed for the company to prosper. Be innovative in approach in order to improve performance
Contribute fully to dealership meetings and keep abreast of developments in the motor trade generally including Ford and Government legislation
Define and organise duties and responsibilities within the department to ensure staff operate in line with expense budgets and fully utilise assets under their direct control
Optimise utilisation of premises and opportunities presented by the manufacturers franchise to promote the company?s image and goodwill with customers, potential customers and with the community generally
Maintain the security and good housekeeping of the department
Attend training courses as required
Be aware of the published list of regular duties pertaining to the post of Regional Sales Manager and ensure that they are all regularly and successfully attended to.

Directly responsible to: Regional Director
Directly supervises: All car sales managers and business managers
Service/ Consultative relationships with: Other managers, suppliers & manufacturer
